The North Otago Development side is our second-tier senior representative team, designed to offer senior club players the opportunity to develop further and compete at a higher level.
This team serves as an important platform for players to showcase their skills and push for selection in the prestigious North Otago Heartland team.
The North Otago Development side plays an essential role in the player pathway, helping athletes transition from club rugby to provincial representation. The team competes against other regional development sides, providing valuable experience and exposure.
In 2023, the North Otago Development side achieved a significant milestone by winning the Hanan Cup, and they are the proud current holders of this prestigious trophy. This victory highlights the team’s strength, skill, and determination, showcasing the depth of talent within North Otago Rugby.
The Development side continues to provide a vital opportunity for senior players to gain exposure, improve their game, and challenge for a spot in the North Otago Heartland squad.
